The band combined R&B with a classically tinged two-keyboard approach, and, in Gary Brooker, had a singer of rich and soulful passion. Procol Harum's first album was released a few months after the band's enormous hit "A Whiter Shade of Pale" captured the attention of large portions of the world. This collection is laden with treasures, including the punchy "A Christmas Camel."
